Port Augusta Follow The Dream

Port Augusta Follow The Dream provides academic, career and cultural enrichment for approximately thirty Aboriginal students from the Port Augusta region. Established in 2006, students from Years 8 - 12 attend the dedicated Enrichment Centre up to four afternoons per week after school.

The program enables students to access specialist tutoring across all subject areas, linking directly to the courses they are studying, which in turn directly supports their long term career ambitions. For those who are interested, Senior Secondary Metal Work is also available through the Port Augusta Secondary School-Industry Pathways Program.

Follow The Dream also features educational and career excursions throughout the year in order to demonstrate the different pathways available after school. These include campus tours of universities in Adelaide and industry visits organised by the program’s partners.

The program is proudly partnered by BHP, Ant & Mary Lou Simpson, Genesee Wyoming, Olympic Dam Aboriginal Community Trust, Port Augusta Secondary School, and Caritas College.
