Sevenoaks Follow The Dream

The Sevenoaks Follow the Dream Learning Academy encourages students to achieve their full potential and celebrates a supportive ‘home at school’ where students build both knowledge and character.

Over thirty students from the Sevenoaks Senior College campus have the unique opportunity to access tutor and Program Coordinator support during non-classroom contact time. The program takes place every day in a dedicated stand-alone centre on the school campus.

The centre also hosts after-school specialist tutoring sessions for approximately ten students in Years 6 - 9 at Cannington Community College who receive tailored academic enrichment in Mathematics and English. The students also take the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Sevenoaks campus before they transition to the Senior College for their final years of secondary education.

The program also supports after-school tuition at two more outreach schools - Yulebrook College and Thornlie Senior High School - where up to fifteen students can access tutoring, mentoring and guidance on the educational opportunities and academic preparation needed to succeed.

In addition to individualised support and mentoring, the Program Coordinator is active in connecting students with opportunities to develop practical skills, career awareness, self-confidence and cultural identity. Industry engagements, University and TAFE visits, educational and cultural camps, and other exciting extra-curricular activities are regularly organised.

The proud support of BHP has helped foster a passionate participation and an alumni of over 150 graduates from the program since 2004.
