Derby Follow The Dream

Approximately thirty students from Derby District High School in Years 7 - 12 participate in the Derby Follow the Dream program.

Known locally as Kilaywali Bookarri, the program is delivered on-site in a purpose built learning environment where students access specialist tutor support from teaching and non-teaching staff who have a wide range of skills across different areas of expertise and interests.

Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities to help them develop their organisational skills, leadership capabilities, and resilience. Most importantly, students participate each year in a cultural camp to build their knowledge of self, their culture and the depth of extended families.

The program takes advantage of the incredible opportunities available in the Kimberley, the unique natural environment, and the infrastructure and services in our community and beyond.

The students and staff at Follow the Dream Derby are proud to acknowledge the Nyikina people, value all types of learning, and are committed to meaningful education.

The Derby Follow The Dream program is proudly partnered by the WA Department of Education.
