In addition to improving attendance, literacy and numeracy, the program also enhances self-management, social skills and resilience. Celebrations of culture and heritage are also a core feature of the learning program, with opportunities to share diverse stories, journeys and languages.
The weekly after-school sessions are organised by the Program Coordinator and the school’s AIEO (Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer), with support from teachers, families and the local community.
