Helping dreams to come true

Helping dreams to come true

It is a long way from a remote Kimberley community to the University of WA, and new student Zyhannah Bin Jalil says she could not have made the journey without the help of the Follow the Dream program.

Ms Bin Jalil, 19, grew up in Beagle Bay community, 120km north of Broome. From Year 8, she attended Belmont City College while boarding in Kewdale.

“The transition was pretty hard at first, going from such a small remote community to city life,” she said.

She joined the Graham Farmer Foundation’s Follow The Dream program, which provides tutoring and mentoring for Aboriginal students.
