David comes from the Northern Territory with Gurindji/Warlpiri/Anmatyerre heritage through his paternal and maternal lineage. Professionally he has worked across education at compulsory and post-compulsory levels in the Northern Territory and Western Australia from 1987 to present times. This comprised working in metropolitan, regional, remote and very remote contexts.

He brings many years of education experience which includes leadership development, program design, cross-cultural awareness, community engagement, consultancy, strategic planning, teaching, public speaking.

David has tertiary degree qualifications, including a Master of Education in leadership & management, with accreditations in leadership, program design and facilitation.

David has a student-centred approach to education, and is committed to building success for Aboriginal students and Aboriginal communities through education. His professional journey has led him into the tertiary education space where he is Deputy Director of the Centre for Aboriginal Studies at Curtin University.
