Marty has over 28 years of experience as an electrical engineer in a variety of industries including high voltage utilities, mining and rail. Currently employed by BHP, he strongly believes education is key to solving social problems. He is a descendant of the Worrorra people which drives him to mentor Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  He was nominated as a Board member in May 2023.

Marty is well known to the Foundation’s STEM primary programs in Hedland who he regularly visits to encourage students to consider careers in engineering and science.  He has a multitude of personal and professional achievements including the first Aboriginal person to obtain an engineering degree from UWA.
