Before Gary ‘God’ Ablett, Tony ‘Plugger’ Lockett and Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin, there was Graham ‘Polly’ Farmer. A footballing legend who revolutionised the game.
Co-written by author Steve Hawke and Polly’s daughter and Vice Chair of the Foundation Kim Farmer, the captivating biography recounts Polly’s life, from his humble beginnings in North Fremantle; across the 356 football games he played over 19 seasons, more than anyone else in football history at the time; and his enduring legacy in the Polly Farmer Foundation, created to empower the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across Australia through the Follow the Dream program.
The book is written for younger readers (middle school age) who will enjoy learning some fun, quirky facts and raw football statistics while reading about the Great Polly Farmer. Follow the Dream is the first book in the Magabala Books ‘Legends’ series, introducing big stories for young readers.
You can support the Foundation and the Follow the Dream program by purchasing a copy of the book through the Foundation’s website here Follow the Dream: The Polly Farmer Story or via the Magabala Books website.
